Overview of role

The Office Manager provides logistical and administrative support to the Country Head of South Africa and the SA asset management sales team across intermediary and institutional channels.

They communicate regularly with the SA team via email and phone, working closely with the Country Head, marketing, and events teams based in London, with a focus on delivering excellent service to South African investors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Country Manager and limited support to Sales Managers (calendar support during Fund Manager visits / events).
  2. Organize and execute all South Africa live events professionally, efficiently, and within budget, including the annual SISSA flagship event and Portfolio Manager visits throughout the year.
  3. Arrange travel logistics for domestic and international events.
  4. Develop and maintain a Corporate Responsibility program for South Africa, including organizing charity events aligned with Schroders' global sustainability initiatives.
  5. Manage activities of both offices (CPT and JHB), including rent payments, lease renewals, furnishings, IT troubleshooting, and HSE risk assessments.
  6. Lead monthly IT service calls.
  7. Coordinate timely payment of invoices and track payments as requested.
  8. Manage corporate cards for the SA team and reconcile expenses.
  9. Assist HR with onboarding new staff.
  10. Support team activities in South Africa, including client meetings, travel arrangements, expenses, and general admin.
  11. Generate weekly Salesforce reports for team updates, including MTD and YTD statistics.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience as an Office Manager or similar role.
  • Strong organizational and secretarial skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage complex logistics and multiple travel schedules simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to hybrid working environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and office management systems.
