Job summary

CFS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Office Furniture Production Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing in Gauteng. You will oversee cutting, machining, assembly, upholstery, finishing, and dispatch while ensuring quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in furniture manufacturing with strong CNC experience, proven leadership, and a track record of meeting production deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in office furniture manufacturing.
• CNC machine experience essential (setup, operation, troubleshooting).
• Strong leadership and production team management.
• Knowledge of cutting, machining, assembly, upholstery, finishing, and dispatch processes.
• Ability to plan production schedules and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of health & safety and machinery maintenance.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end production of office furniture, ensuring output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Plan and manage daily/weekly production schedules and allocate labour, materials, and machinery effectively.
• Coordinate workflow across cutting, machining, assembly, upholstery, finishing, and dispatch departments.
• Maintain strict quality control standards and implement corrective actions where required.
• Manage and lead production staff, including training, performance oversight, and enforcing safety compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast material requirements, and work with procurement to prevent shortages.
• Ensure machinery is maintained and operational through preventative maintenance planning.
• Track production KPIs, prepare reports, and identify efficiency improvements to reduce waste and downtime.
• Collaborate with design, sales, procurement, and logistics to meet client specifications and deadlines.
• Oversee custom furniture projects and ensure accurate translation of client requirements into production.

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in furniture manufacturing (office furniture highly advantageous).
• CNC machine experience is essential (setup, operation, troubleshooting).
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams.
