Job description
Duties include :
  • Drafting, reviewing, and providing commentary on commercial and service agreements
  • Maintaining and tracking contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation
  • Providing timely legal advice on corporate governance, operational matters, employment, and commercial disputes
  • Researching and interpreting legislation and regulations, including corporate, consumer protection, employment, and data privacy laws
  • Developing compliance frameworks and internal policies to meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating legal risks across operations
  • Managing litigation and dispute resolution, liaising with external counsel, and overseeing legal proceedings
  • Advising on cross-border transactions, import / export regulations, and international agreements when required
  • Supporting business units with legal guidance on new initiatives and risk assessments
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, attending board / shareholder / sub-committee meetings, and providing secretarial support
Requirements :
  • LLB qualification with articles completed
  • Minimum 3 years experience in corporate, commercial law, or regulatory compliance
  • Proficient in legal research, contract drafting, risk management, and compliance frameworks
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate, methodical work practices
  • Sound business acumen and ability to translate legal concepts into practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functions
  • High computer literacy and understanding of IT as a business enabler
