Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Johannesburg, South Africa, is seeking an Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist to support pricing strategies, tender responses and spot quotes for end-to-end ocean solutions.

You will monitor market trends, collaborate with Sales and Service teams, and maintain pricing data in systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience in freight pricing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel and database tools required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in logistics or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of ocean freight pricing or logistics experience.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Pricing execution aligned with corporate guidelines and lane objectives.
• Prepare pricing inputs and proposals for standard and spot quotes.
• Support local tender pricing activities and global responses.
• Monitor market rate trends and share insights with the team.
• Collaborate with Sales, Service Delivery and Trade teams on pricing.
• Maintain pricing data across systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist in cost optimization of local charges and terms.
• Contribute to dispute resolution and compliance activities.
• Track performance metrics to identify improvements.
