Occupational Therapist x 1

A vacancy has arisen for an Occupational Therapist at Life Nkanyisa | Baneng Care Center in Roodepoort, reporting to the Hospital Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the needs of internal and external customers through the execution of Life Healthcare's strategic and operational objectives in Growth, Quality, Efficiency, and Sustainability. They will contribute to the effective functioning of the Centre and be part of a dynamic professional team that strives for the highest quality standards.

Critical Outputs

1. Develop and maintain the facility programme as a member of the inter-disciplinary team.
2. Participate in planning patient programmes, reviews, and adjustments as required.
3. Ensure sufficient consumables and resources are available for smooth operation.
4. Assess and treat patients with physical and cognitive problems, including neurological disorders such as traumatic brain injuries and stroke.
5. Liaise with external stakeholders to provide work, learning, and recreational opportunities for service users.
6. Implement large-scale skills development initiatives.
7. Participate in marketing initiatives, advocacy events, and community education when needed.
8. Supervise assistants, monitor outputs, and provide training on equipment and activities.
9. Ensure all equipment is serviced and in working order.
10. Engage in continuous professional development activities.
11. Attend all interdisciplinary team meetings.
12. Function effectively as a member of the team.

Requirements

1. Degree in Occupational Therapy.
2. Current HPCSA registration.
3. Grade 12 Certificate.
4. At least five years of managerial experience in the field.
5. Experience treating adults and children with neurological disorders is an advantage.
6. Experience with mental health/psychiatric conditions is advantageous.
7. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication skills, and performance orientation.
8. Commitment to quality patient care and customer satisfaction.
