We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Occupational Therapist to join our high-performing team at our Newcastle office on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE).

Responsibilities include:
  • Assessing workers with physical and psychological injuries to determine the best way to facilitate their return to work.
  • Conducting workplace assessments to identify physical and psychological demands and developing tailored rehabilitation plans for sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
  • Providing clinical opinions and justifications through report writing.
  • Completing Activities of Daily Living Assessments, coordinating services, and prescribing equipment.
  • Managing complex injury cases and liaising with medical professionals to support recovery and return to work.

This role involves collaboration with and oversight of other practitioners, with responsibilities including injury prevention services such as:

  • Pre-Employment Assessments, including drug & alcohol testing, audiology, spirometry, vision, and functional testing.
  • Utilizing a detailed Job Dictionary to understand job demands and assess client suitability for return to work.
  • Providing interactive manual handling training and stretching/warm-up programs.
  • Conducting ergonomic assessments in workplace, home, and vehicle settings.
