Qualifications

• Qualified Medical Doctor with medical qualifications acceptable to HPCSA.
• Registration with professional bodies (e.g., HPCSA, SASOM).
• Medical Protection Insurance and COID Act registration required.

Responsibilities

• Manage completion of IOD Medical Reports and conduct medical examinations.
• Review occupational health tests for adverse effects.
• Provide monthly progress reports and manage sick leaves.

Job description

Occupational Medical Practitioner required for a period of 36 months on a Project.(As and when needed)

• Must be based in Gauteng
• Management and Completion of IOD Medical Reports
• Pre, periodical and exit – Employment Medical Examinations
• Fitness for Work Process
• Review outcomes of all occupational health tests, for adverse exposure effects, and impacts on medical fitness to work and manage the deviation
• Provide monthly progress reports
• Sick Absenteeism Management
• Approval of Long Sick Leaves/Traditional Healers Sick Notes
• Travel related illness
• Pharmacy Issues
• Management of general medical issues of employees as well as Mine Medical Issues
• Required to attend meeting and assist during the absence of an Occupational Medicine Practitioner (Vacation leave, Sick leave, Study leave etc.)
• Will be required to travel and render services
• Provide reports as per management needs, site specific reports
• Must be willing to travel to various Client sites based in and around Pretoria and neighboring locations.

Qualifications

Must be a qualified Medical Doctor with MBChB or MBBCh or equivalent qualification acceptable to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner and a Diploma in Occupational Medicine Practitioner

• Registration with a professional body/institute e.g. Health Professional Council of South Africa and SASOM etc.
• MUST have a Medical Protection Insurance
• Registration with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Act 1993 (Act 130 of 1993)
• Registration with Department of Health for Dispensing Licence
