A vacancy exists for a permanent contract Occupational Health Nurse reporting to the Unit Manager, based at the Black Rock Life Occupational Health clinic in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team and ensure the clinic exceeds customer expectations and requirements.

Introduction

This role involves managing the overall contract with the client, developing and improving occupational health programs, and ensuring the physical, psychological, and social wellbeing of workers in a safe environment.

Critical Outputs

1. Manage the contract and audits effectively.
2. Develop and enhance occupational health programs.
3. Establish and monitor the health status of employees through surveillance programs.
4. Provide information to the client to eliminate or control health risks.
5. Work within budget constraints.
6. Complete administrative tasks promptly.
7. Maintain professional and quality standards.
8. Lead and motivate subordinates.
9. Coordinate clinic management and emergency services on-site.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse qualification with SANC registration.
• Diploma/BTech in Occupational Health (must be current on SANC receipt).
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office; experience with medical databases is advantageous.
• Experience with COID reporting and administration.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mining environment.
• Additional certifications: HIV counselling, audiometry, spirometry, vision, multidrug, dispensing, valid driver’s license.
