Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with SANC.
• Three years of experience in an Occupational Health environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all legal requirements for the operation of the Clinic.
• Maintain a schedule for periodic medicals to be performed.
• Conduct pre-employment, periodic and exit medicals.
• Maintain the COID claims register and related documentation.
• Facilitate and conduct accident investigations.
• Identify and report on health matters, incidents, accidents.
• Coach employees on basic PPE and Food Safety Awareness.
• Equip the clinic to deal with foreseeable medical emergencies.
• Accurately complete all Clinic records.

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Occupational Health Nurse for its Kruis operations in the Commercial division. This position reports to Senior Occupational Health Nurse and holds the TASK Grade T10. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a B.Cur or a Diploma in Nursing, current registration as a Registered Nurse with SANC, registration with SASOHN, a Diploma in Occupational Health, a Certificate in Audiometry and Spirometry and three years’ experience in an Occupational Health environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a schedule for periodic medicals to be performed.
• Conduct pre-employment, periodic and exit medicals in accordance with the SOP's.
• Maintain the COID claims register and related documentation.
• Facilitate and conduct accident investigations and propose mitigation measures.
• Identify and report on health matters, incidents, accidents and trends.
• Coach employees on basic PPE and Food Safety Awareness.
• Equip the clinic to deal with all foreseeable medical emergencies.
