Occupational Health Manager - Chemical & Manufacturing Sector

A leading company in the chemical & manufacturing industry is looking for a highly skilled Occupational Health Manager to lead its occupational health programs and drive compliance with health & safety regulations.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health Nursing or related field
2. Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) & SASOHN
3. Qualified in Spirometry, Audiometry, and Occupational Vision Screening
4. Legal Dispensing Certificate (in line with Medicines Act 101 of 1965)
5. Strong understanding of OHSA, COIDA, SANS 10083, & Pharmacy Act
6. Experience in incident investigations, risk assessments, and compliance auditing
7. Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
8. 5+ years’ experience in Occupational Health within a chemical / manufacturing industry
9. 3+ years in incapacity management & disability case handling
10. Occupational Health & Wellness Management – Leading employee health programs in an industrial setting
11. Regulatory & Legal Compliance – Deep knowledge of OHSA, COIDA, Medicines Act, and ISO health standards
12. Risk & Exposure Assessment – Conducting workplace health surveys & hazard identification
13. Incident & Emergency Response – Managing medical crises, injury management & health risks
14. Medical Surveillance & Data Analysis – Tracking employee health trends for risk mitigation
15. Workforce Rehabilitation & Fitness for Duty Assessments – Supporting employees returning to work
16. Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration – Engaging with HR, SHERQ, regulatory bodies, and external medical professionals
