The role encompasses capacity building, mentoring and training, governance, risk management and patient care excellence. It also emphasizes staff development, stakeholder collaboration and compliance with health care legislation.

Qualifications

• A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
• Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations.
• A relevant management qualification.
• An intermediate level of computer proficiency.
• 2 or more years' experience in a private hospital setting.
• Experience in clinical leadership.
• Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate improved quality nursing care and ensure compliance to professional and ethical practice.
• Monitor and ensure nursing care and service delivery within a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team.
• Coordinate capacity building, mentoring and training.
• Identify quality improvement opportunities and measure Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Investigate incidents and monitor safety standards; comply with relevant acts and policies.
• Ensure safe, cost-effective patient care in line with governance strategies and infection control.
