Job description

A vacancy exists for a Nursing Standards Manager, based at Life Queenstown Private Hospital, reporting to Njabulo Buthelezi, Nurse Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for motivating the company's nursing operations and training strategy in a streamlined, standardized, risk-based manner as the line manager for the enabling team.

Critical Outputs
  1. Effective management of integrated quality and business process standards
  • Consult with the Nurse Manager to ensure a clear understanding throughout the hospital to ensure general customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure correct interpretation and classification of the complaint management policy.
  • Implement effective risk management practices to prevent routine issues.
  • Apply effective clinical management practices to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Manage stock and control costs to optimize savings.
  • Management of training programs related to learners and staff
    • Participate in the selection process of learners and clinical training specialists.
    • Utilize administrative resources effectively for transactional work.
  • Line management for enabling team performance
    • Act as a second-in-charge and assist the Nurse Manager.
    • Ensure fair and effective people management practices.
    • Set and manage performance targets.
  • Relationship building with stakeholders
    • Support Unit Managers effectively.
    • Provide feedback on customer complaints.
    • Promote the image of nurses and support the medical team.
    Requirements
    • Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
    • Management experience (e.g., Process Manager, Unit Manager, or Training Manager).
    • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
    • Leadership ability.
    • Sound business acumen.
    • Understanding of the private healthcare industry is advantageous.
    • Computer proficiency.
    • Driver’s license and willingness to travel.
