Nursery Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Assistants to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the nursery, assisting in the care, education, and development of young children.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities to support children's learning and development.
  • Providing a nurturing environment where children feel safe, secure, and valued.
  • Supporting children with personal care tasks, including feeding, changing, and toileting, in line with safeguarding and health and safety policies.
  • Supervising and interacting with children during indoor and outdoor play, promoting exploration, creativity, and physical development.
  • Fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through open communication and collaboration.
  • Contributing to observations and assessments of children's progress, recording observations, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting the implementation of nursery policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour management.
  • Assisting with maintaining a clean and stimulating learning environment, including setting up and tidying resources and equipment.
  • Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
  • A passion for supporting children's development and well-being.
  • A warm, caring, and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the nursery.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months. If you are on the update service, you could be fast-tracked through our recruitment process.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.

Notes:

  • Position is open all year round, 51 weeks.
  • Holidays can be taken within or outside term time.
  • Immediate start available.
  • Full-time role.
