Job summary

Resource Associates is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide and promote safe, quality patient care in alignment with hospital standards in Thembisa, Gauteng. The role covers direct/indirect patient care, planning, and supervising care delivery to meet patient needs.

Requirements include SANC registration, RN with OR theatre experience, Matric, and 2+ years in Theatre. Advanced computer literacy is essential to support health records and processes.

Qualifications

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Registered Nurse or Equivalent NQF7 qualification.
• Matric qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years in Theatre and Operating Room.
• Cardiac and vascular scrub experience essential.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Capacity to comply with health legislation.

Responsibilities

• Practice patient care according to Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility.
• Contribute to holistic care of patients and attend shift handover.
• Recognize life-threatening situations and communicate with patients.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance and manage stock, charges and credits.
• Promote and maintain good public relations with patients and visitors.

Registered Nurse Position

The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies and will further be responsible for:

Direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key work output and accountabilities include:

• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients.
• Attend handover of report at shift commencement.
• Recognize life-threatening situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care.
• Promotion of patient’s health and wellbeing.
• Give a detailed handover to the ward’s sister.
• Audit of health records to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately.
• Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and skills required include:

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Registered Nurse or Equivalent NQF7 qualification.
• Matric qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years in Theatre and Operating Room.
• Cardiac and Vascular Scrub experience essential.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Capacity of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation.
