Job description

NACOSA is looking for a suitably qualified candidate within South Africa for the position of Nurse Mentor to coordinate clinical activities and mentor SRs (sub-recipients) in the : AYP (Adolescent and Young People); People who inject drugs (PWID); and HH (Higher Health) Community System Strengthening (CSS) programmes.

3-month contract)The duties and responsibilities of the Nurse Mentor will include, but are not limited to : Facilitating the implementation of health services delivered by implementing organizations through technical guidance and mentoring.Promoting high-quality biomedical services at the local level by disseminating the most recent clinical service delivery guidelines, protocols, and standard operating procedures focusing on the TB programme.Implementing and supporting XRAY mobile units into the community.Providing technical support regarding specifications of XRAY mobiles and working closely with various stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.Identifying the capacity-building needs of implementers and developing and implementing skills development plans through on-the-job training.Ensuring implementers comply with South African laws, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to clinical services within the TB programme.Keeping up to date with clinical developments in the field and supporting the development and continuous improvement of ART, PrEP, and TB care and treatment services for targeted populations.Providing guidance regarding procurement and supply chain management of TB mobile vehicles and their utilization at SR level.Co-facilitating or facilitating training sessions.Maintaining effective linkages between technical components and programme management, training, finance, and M&E functions within the programmes.Developing and maintaining constructive and close working relationships with key stakeholders, including the Department of Health at national, provincial, and district levels, and acting as a thought leader in the development and evaluation of clinical service delivery programmes in South Africa.Assisting Programme and M&E Specialists with the consolidation and analysis of data on clinical services to inform programme planning.Submitting periodic reports to the Clinical Manager as required.
