Job description

A global pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Nurse Educator.

Job Purpose :

The Nurse Educator will be responsible for all-encompassing interaction with Health Care Professionals, Societies and Associations concerning Treatment areas. They will also be responsible for training, cross collaboration, and interaction with all departments and patients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities are :

  • Receive information regarding patients and report back on progress of MS, Oncology and Rare Diseases patients – Admin staff and doctor’s practice
  • Educate patients on all aspects of disease, lifestyle and administration of relevant products
  • Arrange drawing of bloods for JCV (John Cunningham Virus) testing
  • Collect used vials after training and return to the office
  • Educating & training directly to patients on administration of various products
  • Assist commercial teams with training on intravenous iron and sourcing new infusion centres for IV iron
  • Assist with facilitation of documentation for approval of products where required
  • Submission of enquiries to the relevant contact persons in Quality Assurance / Pharmacovigilance / Medical Affairs.
  • Completion of all assigned training within the specified timelines.
  • Forwarding of all received Product Quality Complaints, Adverse Events and Medical
  • Ensure that the relevant training has been completed according to the training plan.
  • Forwarding of all received Product Quality Complaints, Adverse Events and Medical Enquiries to the relevant person in Quality Assurance / Pharmacovigilance / Medical Affairs.

Qualifying Requirements are :

  • Related degree
  • Registration with South African Nursing Council (essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pharma industry
  • Embodies Values & Behaviors in all internal and external interactions
  • People skills – highly adapted interpersonal skills
  • Priority setting – initiative and follow through
  • Time management and deadline driven
