Job description

We have an opportunity available in Johannesburg for a Northbound Road Controller.

Candidates are expected to be able to perform the following:

1. Co-ordinating and planning of all local procured cargoes and road freight to DRC for in-gauge and out of gauge (abnormal) cargoes.
2. Co-ordinating and planning import RIT & RIB clearance for sea freight shipments, monitor shipment to ensure that containers do not incur demurrage costs.
3. Liaise with the various Suppliers / LSP to ensure timeous upliftment of cargo.
4. Planning of loads and maximizing truck capacity to ensure that deadlines are met.
5. Booking of trucks and sending out pre-alerts timeously.
6. Arrange Marine Insurance / surveyor inspection when required.
7. Track all shipments and update reports accordingly.
8. Monitoring POD and send to client as proof of receipt.
9. Make sure accuracy and timeline of RFQ.
10. Ensure all payments to LSP are completed 15 days upon receipt of full documents.
11. Request and check all new supplier required documents.
12. Ensure all documents for all shipments are uploaded and saved on the Share Point and hard copies kept where necessary.
13. Complete processing of contracts until signed by both parties.
14. Timely and efficient resolution of all queries.
15. Timely and efficient response time.

Candidates need to have at least a college education background; additional qualification in supply chain will be preferred. Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in the logistics field and understanding of the various shipping Incoterms. Have geographical knowledge of Southern Africa and the import/export process. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular). Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Efficient when working in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in data analysis for planning.

Basic salary of between R 30,000.00 to R 35,000.00 on offer and negotiable with benefits to be discussed.
