CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT AS A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO THE BOARD OF THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN’S MUNICIPAL ENTITY, THE CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE (RF) SOC LIMITED (CTICC)

The City of Cape Town invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for consideration for appointment as a non-executive director to the Board of its municipal entity, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (RF) SOC Limited (CTICC).

Overview:

The CTICC was established in 1999 as a collaborative effort between the City of Cape Town, the Provincial Government of the Western Cape and Business Cape, with the City of Cape Town as the majority shareholder, to bring to fruition the shared vision of a world-class Cape Town-based convention centre. The entity’s mandate since inception has been to create jobs and drive the local economy. The CTICC continues to evolve in response to global trends, with a renewed strategic focus on sustainability, diversification of revenue streams and industry leadership.

Primary objectives of the Board are to:

  • Drive the strategic vision and long-term sustainability of the CTICC
  • Promote the Western Cape as a global business tourism destination
  • Support economic development through high-impact events
  • Ensure good governance and financial stewardship
  • Contribute to South Africa’s broader GDP and infrastructure development initiatives.

Criteria:

Candidates well-experienced in one or more of the following areas of expertise are encouraged to apply:

  • Leadership, strategy and general management
  • Business risk management
  • Corporate governance
  • Events and entertainment industry management
  • Marketing and communication, including social media strategy
  • Tourism development and promotion.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong ethical foundation and a track record of performance in complex/dynamic environments. They must also uphold the values and reputation of the City of Cape Town.

Remuneration:

Non-Executive Directors will be remunerated according to the remuneration rates as prescribed by National Treasury. The current upper limit in relation to the daily rate is R4 005.
