Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking a Senior Node.js & AWS Back-End Developer in Pretoria, South Africa. You will design and maintain scalable, production-ready backend services in a cloud-based environment, with a focus on serverless architectures and API integrations.

Qualifications

• A relevant IT degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of production experience with Node.js in serverless environments.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and SQS/SNS.
• At least 5 years of automated testing experience, including unit and end-to-end testing.
• Experience leading IT teams or providing technical leadership.
• Strong experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably CloudFormation.
• Experience designing, configuring, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, Kubernetes, serverless architecture, networking, monitoring, and log analytics.
• Understanding of software design and architecture patterns.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
• AWS Developer Associate certification at minimum is preferred, with Professional-level certifications advantageous.
