NATIONAL OFFICE – BRAAMFONTEIN (LEGAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT)

The incumbent will be expected to sign a performance contract. The position is based at the Legal Aid SA National Office in Braamfontein.

KEY OUTPUTS
  1. Respond promptly to client telephone enquiries, complaints, and concerns, providing advice, guidance, and assistance to resolve issues or legal problems.
  2. Record calls accurately on the logging system and obtain sufficient information from clients about support required.
  3. Guide clients to understand their problems and advise on alternative solutions aligned with legal best practices.
  4. Refer clients for appropriate legal assistance or act on their behalf for non-litigation matters such as delayed pension payouts or non-delivery of ID documents.
  5. Maintain detailed notes on case outcomes and ensure proper diarising and follow-up of matters.
  6. Call clients for feedback on the quality of legal services and advice provided.
PERSONNEL (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
  • National Senior / Matric certificate plus a Diploma in Paralegal and/or Legal Assistant (one-year qualification).
  • Ability to relate well at all levels.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication in English, Afrikaans, and other South African languages.
  • A valid unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license is advantageous.
