Placements24 is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer with NLP focus to develop and deploy cutting-edge NLP models in Midrand, Gauteng. You’ll work on text classification, sentiment analysis, and chatbots, collaborating with engineers to integrate models into production systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on NLP experience, strong Python skills, and familiarity with Transformers, TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and applied machine learning.
• Proficiency with NLP libraries and frameworks such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, Gensim.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with data preprocessing and feature engineering for text data.
• Understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and evaluation metrics.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy NLP models for tasks such as text classification, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and question answering.
• Implement and fine‑tune state‑of‑the‑art NLP architectures (e.g., Transformers, LSTMs, RNNs).
• Build robust data pipelines for text preprocessing, feature extraction, and model evaluation.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate NLP models into production systems and applications.
• Conduct research to stay updated with the latest advancements in NLP and machine learning.
• Optimize model performance for accuracy, latency, and scalability.
• Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate model effectiveness.
• Contribute to the documentation of models, algorithms, and processes.
