The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-coordinating and leading provision of quality patient care during the night in support of hospital and nursing objectives of quality, growth and people.

Function Nursing Facility Life Mercantile Hospital Position Night Quality Supervisor Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Night Quality Supervisor, based at Life Mercantile Hospital, reporting to Raathiga Veerapathran, Nursing Standards Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-coordinating and leading provision of quality patient care during the night in support of hospital and nursing objectives of quality, growth and people.

Critical Outputs

Effective quality management

  • Communicating, supporting, coaching and monitoring night staff to ensure a safe patient and staff environment
  • Identifying clinical competence and addressing the concern with the line manager
  • Participating in and leading quality projects to support a culture of quality

Effective operations management

  • Ensuring staff allocations are adequately assigned
  • Understanding stock management processes to achieve unit targets
  • Effectively managing unplanned events to ensure optimal utilization of resources
  • Providing direction and inspiring positive work behavior to keep staff motivated and productive

Effective relationship building with internal & external stakeholders

  • Displaying visible leadership to night staff and management to ensure productive and motivated teamwork
  • Participating in meetings to ensure productive and meaningful relationships with external stakeholders

  • efficiency - Effective financial management – Cost-effective management of resources across all business processes (including pharmacy and clinical engineering)

Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered with SANC
  • Current experience private healthcare
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a registered nurse
  • Previous experience as a night quality supervisor would be an advantage
