Position: Night Quality Coordinator

Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Night Quality Coordinator based at Life Bedford Gardens Hospital, reporting to Nursing Standards Manager, Bongiwe Malane. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and leading the provision of quality patient care during the night shift in support of hospital and nursing objectives related to quality, growth, and people.

Critical Outputs
Effective quality management
  • Communicating, supporting, coaching, and monitoring night staff to ensure a safe patient and staff environment
  • Identifying clinical competence and addressing concerns with the line manager
  • Participating in and leading quality projects to support a culture of quality
Effective operations management
  • Ensuring staff allocations are adequately assigned
  • Understanding stock management processes to achieve unit targets
  • Managing unplanned events effectively to ensure optimal resource utilization
  • Providing direction and inspiring positive work behavior to motivate and keep staff productive
Effective relationship building with internal & external stakeholders
  • Displaying visible leadership to night staff and management to ensure productive and motivated teamwork
  • Participating in meetings to foster meaningful relationships with external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered with SANC
  • Midwifery qualification is advantageous but not compulsory
  • Experience in a specialty is advantageous
  • Management qualification or experience is an advantage
