Purpose of the Role

At Menlyn Boutique Hotel, our purpose is to serve God, our country, our families, our guests, and each other in a genuine and respectful manner. As the Night Auditor, you uphold this mission by ensuring the smooth, accurate, and secure overnight functioning of the hotel. You are the guardian of both financial integrity and guest peace-of-mind while embodying our values of Humbleness, Respect, Kindness, Integrity, and Progressiveness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial & Audit Duties

- Perform nightly reconciliation of all hotel transactions, including accommodation, food and beverage,and incidental charges.

- Balance and verify all revenue across POS, reservations, and third-party systems.

- Prepare daily revenue and financial reports for management review.

- Audit rate integrity, discounts, and refunds for accuracy and compliance.

2. Guest Services & Overnight Operations

- Provide exceptional late-night front office service, including check-ins, check-outs, wake-up calls, andconcierge support.

- Attend to guest requests and resolve issues with kindness and calm professionalism.

- Maintain a quiet, safe, and secure environment for all guests and team members.

- Support Room Service and occasional overnight guest requests, breakfast pack orders as required.

3. Communication & Handover

- Prepare a full and detailed handover to morning teams, ensuring continuity in guest service and

operational flow.

- Ensure all public spaces and venues are left in a neat and clean state.

- Log all relevant guest feedback, incidents, maintenance issues, and operational notes.

- Attend monthly departmental meetings and make a positive contribution toward the team.

- Attend a minimum of 2 operations meetings per month.

4. Safety, Standards & Compliance

- Conduct routine property and floor checks to ensure guest security, cleanliness, and property integrity.

- Report and follow up on any safety or maintenance concerns.

- Monitor compliance with hotel procedures, health, and safety regulations.

- Monitor and communicate continuously with the security guards on duty – report any suspicious

activity to the supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Matric certificate (Grade 12); a relevant hospitality qualification is advantageous.

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a night audit or front office position in a 4- or 5-star property.

- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, Mews or Semper).

- Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in written and spoken English; additional languages an asset.

- Willing and able to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
