The Opportunity:

We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to launch their career in corporate tax law. This role is designed for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and establish themselves in a highly specialized field. No prior experience in tax law is required.

Instead, we are looking for a candidate with the passion and commitment to invest in their development, embracing a steep learning curve in a fast-paced consulting environment. This role is client-facing and requires a high level of agility, resilience, and resourcefulness.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience, working alongside seasoned professionals, and will be supported every step of the way as they develop expertise in tax law and SARS engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with senior attorneys and consultants to address complex tax matters.
  2. Engage with SARS on behalf of clients, navigating legal and procedural requirements.
  3. Draft legal opinions, correspondence, and other technical documents.
  4. Conduct thorough research on tax-related legal cases and principles.
  5. Participate in client consultations to develop tailored solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) (Required).
  2. Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (Required).
  3. Strong academic foundation and a willingness to learn.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Analytical mindset with the ability to approach problems strategically.
