Job description

A natural hunter with a passion for sales who will be mainly responsible for bringing in new business, as well as looking after existing clients.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Sales / Marketing, Supply Chain or similar.
  • At least 5 years' sales experience in the Logistics and / or Clearing and Forwarding industry.
  • An excellent understanding of the market and related competitors.
  • A proven sales track record is essential.
  • Proven success in your sales ability and demonstrable knowledge of the sales process.
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport.

Key Performance Areas:

Report to the Operations Director:

  • Relationship Management:
  • Ensure effective communication between the company and customers while building and developing strong relationships.
  • Build relationships with customers and potential customers.
  • Efficient and effective management of client relationships.
  • Regular updating of Mobility platform with all relevant client information.
  • Achieve agreed daily call targets.

Grow Basket to existing customers:

  • Introduce new products to existing customers.
  • Increase penetration on new product introductions whilst maintaining and growing market share on existing product ranges.

Increase market share whilst protecting existing share:

  • Achieve company sales targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities, both product and customer.

Administration:

  • Capture new customer information into the Sales Mobility platform.
  • Report on all sales and marketing aspects of the business.
  • Ensure updated and relevant information and marketing materials are provided to customers.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Secure new clients.
  • Manage pipeline to ensure conversion rate is achieved and revenue generated to exceed targets.
  • Plan & execute approaches & pitches to clients.
  • Master and understand market trends and seasonality.
  • Exceed targets set in terms of generating revenue.
  • Negotiate with the clients and prospective clients as per price guidelines given.
  • Execute negotiations through prospecting, cold calling, quantifying and closing deals.
  • Develop and lead both short and long term strategies.
  • Promote services offerings.
  • Complete tender applications and secure tender business.
  • Ensure weekly / monthly reports are up-to-date and submitted.
  • Update and maintain customer interaction data in sales CRM tool.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
