NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SALES CONSULTANT (Road Freight) Cape Town, Western Cape

Highly reputable and established National Transport & Logistics Firm is currently seeking a self-driven, disciplined, passionate and professional new business development sales consultant to join their dynamic, growing and personalised team of professionals!

One would describe you as a highly client centric networker who is persuasive, determined and loves the challenge of acquiring new clients through offering service excellence!

Key Responsibilities include :

New Client Acquisition :

Actively seek and identify new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation activities.

Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and providing suitable solutions.

Strategic Planning :

Develop and implement strategic plans for business development in line with the company's overall objectives.

Identify and prioritize target markets, industries, and customer segments.

Sales and Revenue Generation :

Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.

Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business growth.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients.

Product and Service Knowledge :

Stay informed about the company's products or services and industry trends.

Clearly articulate the value proposition and unique selling points to potential clients.

Collaboration :

Collaborate with internal teams such as finance, admin and operations to ensure a cohesive approach to business development.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of new business initiatives.

Proposal and Presentation :

Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.

Customize proposals based on client needs and feedback.

Reporting and Analysis :

Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and achievement of targets.

Analyze performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Continuous Learning :

Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends.

Continuously improve personal and professional skills to adapt to the changing business landscape.

Operations :

Provide a timely and efficient haulage service to the Companies customers to meet with their delivery deadlines.

Maintain constant contact with clients and haulers and to develop good relationships with them to secure business for the organization.

Negotiate tariffs, fees, discounts and contracts with clients and haulers as well as compiling quotations for new and established clients.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience required :

Grade 12

B.Com Sales / Marketing / Logistics Degree / similar would be advantageous

3-5 Years proven new business development experience gained ideally within the road freight / transport brokering / logistics / supply chain / shipping / FMCG or related sales field

Proven and consistent cold calling and networking skills are essential!

Experience as an operator / load controller is beneficial

Stable and proven sales track record with require with reputable references

Own reliable transport
