Job description

Our client in the transport and logistics industry is currently looking to employ a New Business Development Consultant based in Pretoria or Johannesburg.

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12).
  • 3–5 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in the logistics or transport industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

Lead Generation

  • Conduct research and networking to identify potential clients in target markets.
  • Develop a robust sales pipeline to achieve set targets.

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries during onboarding.
  • Assess client needs to deliver tailored logistics solutions.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and present persuasive sales presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to secure contracts that meet company goals.

Market Analysis

  • Track market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Report market insights and customer preferences to management.

Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain precise records of all sales activities within the CRM system.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
