As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation’s communications and infrastructure services. You will install, configure, monitor, and support client networks - spanning fibre, wireless, MPLS, SD-WAN, firewalls, VoIP, and cloud integration, ensuring uptime, security, and performance meet high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware : routers, switches, firewalls, access points.
- Provide onsite and remote support for ISP services : Fibre, Microwave, SD-WAN, MPLS, and mobile internet.
- Implement and support voice systems : SIP trunking, IP-PBX (3CX, Microsoft Teams telephony).
- Enforce security through firewall setup and coordination with managed cybersecurity tools.
- Integrate cloud connectivity (Azure, AWS, Private Cloud) into hybrid network environments.
- Monitor and resolve network issues using NOC and monitoring tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patching.
- Provide customer support, configuration documentation, and escalate incidents per SLA.
- Assist with the design and implementation of network infrastructure projects.
- Travel to client sites to support physical installations and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 3+ years in network support or field engineering roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of :
- Cisco / Aruba / HPE switches & routers
- MPLS, SD-WAN, VPNs
- Wi-Fi access point deployment and configuration
- SIP trunking solutions and IP-PBX systems (3CX, MS Teams telephony).
- Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure / VPN, AWS VPC).
- Proficient in NOC ticketing systems, network monitoring, and diagnostic tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-resolution, and customer communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications : CCNA or equivalent, NFPA, 3CX Engineer, Azure Networking, Sophos / Trend Micro / SentinelOne.
- Experience with managed services for mid-sized to large clients.
- Knowledge of telecom ISP operations and resilience best practices (failover, redundancy).
