Job description

Responsible for testing and analysis in all elements of network facilities including power, and software.

Produces complex designs and design policies, strategies, architectures, optimisation and documentation within area of speciality.

Responsible for high-level problem resolution and policy implementation and monitoring.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications / Certifications / Experience:

IT Diploma / Degree or relevant IT related qualification (VOIP - Advantageous)

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain acceptable billability ratio
  2. Manage tools of trade
  3. Responsible application and maintenance of assigned equipment (Cell phones, laptops, or other relevant tools etc.)
  4. Manage operational expenses
  5. Reduce operational expenses
  6. Manage and control stock
  7. Receives logistical components from Coordinator
  8. Prepare stock for movement via couriers
  9. Issue parts to end user when needed
  10. Incident resolution
  11. Proactive escalation of unresolved events, incidents and service requests to stakeholders
  12. Planning and design
  13. Work with clients and users, as well as other process and functional actors to determine and address operational requirements within technology and budget constraints
  14. Perform auditing of hardware and software before and after the implementation of release package changes
  15. Produce network release documentation and communications, including training to customer requirements
  16. Ensuring quality components of methodology is followed to achieve all process milestones
  17. Ensure project tasks delivered in accordance with larger project objectives, where applicable
  18. Ensuring that the requirements are documented in technical specifications and topologies
  19. Contribute to roll out planning including method of deployment
  20. Timely risk escalation and issues to stakeholders
  21. Complete required checklists that define the completion criteria for each service performed
  22. Ensure release communication, preparation and training where required
  23. Provide technical and application guidance and support throughout the release process
  24. Provide early life support following deployment
  25. Operate and maintain
  26. Perform pre-approved, manual or networking support, peripheral build, and firmware rollouts to all network devices
  27. Complete required checklists that define the completion criteria for each service performed
  28. Provide informal technical advice and guidance around networking devices and associated peripherals
  29. Monitors networking environment and efficiency and makes recommendations as to improvements, where applicable
  30. Service Provider Management
  31. Where necessary and appropriate, liaise directly with external service providers (e.g. in the case of an event or incident occurring)
  32. Process compliance
  33. Adhere to applicable processes and standards (ISO, ITIL) and best practice models for relevant Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
  34. Training / operation hand-over
  35. Where any of the role tasks are delegated to other process and functional actors, ensure that staff are adequately trained and are provided with access to the appropriate tools to enable them to perform these tasks
