Overview
A company that focuses on theft recovery, driver safety, and business optimization through its tracking technology and related services is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain their network. This role will provide technical leadership and guidance, ensuring the network is secure, scalable and high-performing. You will be responsible for aligning the network strategy with business goals, fostering operational excellence, and ensuring systems are reliable and compliant with security standards.
Responsibilities
- Network Management: Design, implement and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship and technical guidance to network engineers; prepare documentation, allocate tasks and oversee incident resolution.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain network security controls including firewall rules and segmentation; collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities, support audits, and monitor network security.
- Performance and Reporting: Track and report on key metrics (network performance, uptime, incident trends); identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost optimization.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget; maintain accurate documentation of network topology and assets.
- Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR and PCI-DSS.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant diploma and IT networking and security certifications.
- Required: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent.
- Preferred: CCNP, Fortinet NSE, AWS / Azure Networking certifications and ITIL Foundation.
- 58 years of hands-on networking experience including 12 years in a team lead or senior role.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking platforms like Cisco, Juniper and Fortinet.
- Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, VLANs and QoS.
- Experience with firewall configuration, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), SD-WAN, VPN and wireless technologies.
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel.
