My client in Cape Town is urgently seeking a skilled Network Engineer with AWS Cloud & Linux experience to manage, monitor, and optimize their network infrastructure.

Role Details

Fully Office-Based Role (Cape Town Southern Suburbs)

Immediately available candidates would be advantageous.

Required Certifications

One or more of the following (Please attach your certificates):

• CCNP Enterprise or NSE 7 Enterprise Firewall or PCNSE or JNCIPENT or MTCRE or equivalent
• CCNP Security or NSE 7 Advanced Threat Protection or PCNSE or JNCIPSEC or MTCSE or equivalent
• DevNet Associate or NSE 7 Network Security Automation or PCSAE or JNCIADevOps or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

• Routing & Protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, HSRP, ECMP, L3VPN, Policy-Based Routing (PBR), IPv6 routing strategies.
• Scripting & Automation: MikroTik RouterOS scripting, Bash, and/or Python.
• Configuration Management: Ansible, REST API integration, YAML, JSON, and other data structures.
• Monitoring & Analysis: Tools like Dude, Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, SNMP, MIB interpretation, NetFlow, sFlow, Wireshark, Syslog.
• Security & Access Control: Firewall configurations, NAT, VPNs (IPsec, IKEv2, SSTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, WireGuard), 802.1X authentication, SSH, Winbox, HTTPS, DNS security, Layer 2 security measures.
• Quality of Service (QoS): HTB queue trees, PCQ bandwidth management, DSCP, traffic shaping.
• Network Design & Optimization: VLAN, load balancing, high availability, WAN failover, IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack, NAT traversal.
• Wireless Networking & RF Optimization: Wi-Fi standards, MIMO, Beamforming, WPA2-Enterprise, rogue AP detection, MikroTik CAPsMAN, wireless bridging.
• Advanced Security & Threat Mitigation: DDoS protection, zero trust security, RBAC, NAC, SIEM/log management (Graylog, ELK, Splunk).
