We are seeking a Network Engineer I who will play a vital role in supporting the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, security, and performance to facilitate efficient business operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing daily networking tasks to ensure network reliability, availability, and serviceability with minimal interruption.
- Managing network technology upgrades or expansion projects, including hardware and software installation, integration testing, and coordinating activities to avoid system disruptions.
- Collaborating with internal and external teams for problem resolution.
- Configuring functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
- Installing and configuring network devices such as servers, routers, and switches.
- Monitoring network performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
- Creating, overseeing, and testing security measures like access authentication and disaster recovery plans.
- Contributing to the technology lifecycle roadmap, including technology absorption, risk management, refresh, migration, and retirement strategies.
- Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
- Providing recommendations for improving network capacity, availability, and scalability.
Required expertise:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in network device configuration and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and standards (e.g., link aggregation, spanning tree, routing protocols, ACL, NAT, WLAN).
- Experience with switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless devices (WLAN).
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with vendors such as Juniper, Fortinet, Cisco, or Aruba.
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or related discipline
- Valid CCNA, JNCIA, or higher certification
- Fortinet NSE4 certification is advantageous
