Network Engineer

Our client is looking for a subject matter expert in network infrastructure who can lead from the front, provide 3rd level support, and help develop the wider team's capabilities.

This is more than a support role; it's a chance to shape future-ready network solutions across firewalls, load balancers, and routing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Configure, manage, and support FortiGate firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Cisco network equipment (switches, routers, LNS).
2. Deploy and test new network solutions, with a strong focus on security and performance.
3. Automate routine processes and streamline network operations.
4. Monitor network performance, traffic, and logging with tools such as Netflow, Sflow, and Syslog.
5. Maintain up-to-date documentation, backup configurations, and dashboards for troubleshooting and customer visibility.
6. Provide expert-level support and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

1. An IT-related degree/diploma or equivalent experience.
2. Certifications such as CCNA / CCNP, JNCA, NSE (FortiGate), or similar vendor-specific qualifications.
3. Solid Linux experience (Windows experience a bonus).
4. AWS Cloud Practitioner or Architect certification (Professional level a bonus).
5. 5+ years experience in a similar network engineering role.
