Job Opportunity: Linux Network Administrator

Location: Gauteng, JHB - Eastern Suburbs (East Rand of Johannesburg)

We are seeking a skilled Linux Network Administrator to join our team based in the East Rand of Johannesburg. The role involves securing and maintaining the organization's computer network systems, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient data communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and set up network infrastructure, including designing solutions and implementing, configuring, and maintaining LAN and WAN.
  2. Maintain high-availability network infrastructure by installing and configuring network equipment, diagnosing issues, and ensuring network security.
  3. Research the latest networking practices, review, and recommend software updates, patches, and firmware releases.
  4. Perform administrative functions such as defining network policies, documenting systems, and planning improvements.
  5. Conduct operational checks on generators, UPS, camera hardware, solar systems, and perform basic maintenance as needed.
Requirements:
  • BSc degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Linux LPIC-1 certification
  • A+ Certificate
  • N+ Certificate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA), Fortigate certifications
  • MCSE and MCIPT certifications
Experience:
  • Proven experience as a network administrator, including expertise in Network Security, Aruba routing and switches, Windows Server 2016-2019, Linux Server, Microsoft Systems, and VMware.
  • Experience with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
  • Understanding of internet protocols, standards, and network security.
  • Solid understanding of network automation.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to configure and maintain networking stacks effectively.
