An excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Software Engineer to join a global technology scale-up building SaaS and IoT solutions that monitor critical infrastructure across water, rail, mining and industrial environments.
Based in Cape Town, this role is hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days WFH) paying R800K - R1M
A global technology scale-up specialising in IoT and SaaS solutions that connect the physical world to the cloud. The company’s technology is used across water, utilities, rail, mining and industrial environments to monitor critical infrastructure, collect real-world data and identify issues before they become costly problems.
With a global customer base spanning more than 15 countries and billions of measurements flowing through its platform every year, the business operates at the intersection of software, cloud technology and connected devices.
You’ll join a product-led engineering environment where developers have genuine influence over the technology and take ownership of the systems they build.
As the Intermediate Software Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain features across a global SaaS platform, with a strong emphasis on backend development, APIs, integrations, and cloud services.
You’ll primarily work in C# .NET and ASP.NET Core, developing robust services and APIs that support a platform processing large volumes of real-world data. You’ll also contribute to frontend development in TypeScript where required.
You’ll be expected to take full ownership of your work. This means you’re involved well beyond implementation, from understanding requirements and shaping solutions, through development and deployment, and into production support and continuous improvement.
You’ll work with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code, and you’ll have meaningful input into technical decisions within your domain. You’ll also collaborate closely with product teams and embedded engineers to integrate with connected devices and ensure the system performs reliably in real-world environments.
