Mukuru has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer (.NET) to join our growing CRM Engineering Team based in Cape Town, Pretoria or Johannesburg where creativity, collaboration, and meaningful work come together.

As a Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining scalable, high-performance systems and services that power our customer relationship management and business-critical platforms.
Designing, building, and maintaining modern applications using .NET Core
Creating and integrating RESTful APIs for both new features and existing systems
Working with MySQL databases — designing schemas, optimising performance, and writing efficient queries
Developing in a microservices architecture, including containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
Participating in code reviews, debugging, testing, and continuous improvement
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, build, and ship new product features
Following best practices around design patterns, architecture (e.g., Clean Architecture), and Agile delivery
We’re looking for someone with deep .NET knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a drive to innovate. If you're ready to leave a legacy of clean, elegant, and scalable code — this role is for you.
6+ years of professional experience in .NET development (especially .NET Core)
Solid experience with RESTful API development and integration
Strong working knowledge of MySQL — design, queries, and optimisation
Experience in microservices architecture and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
Knowledge of design principles and patterns (e.g., SOLID, Clean Architecture)
Exposure to AWS services is a bonus
Front-end experience (e.g., React or Angular) is an advantage
IT Degree or Diploma (Desirable but not essential — experience speaks louder!)
Communicates clearly and works well with technical and non-technical teams
Thrives in fast-moving environments and solves problems with a calm, analytical mindset
Enjoys continuous learning and keeps up with evolving tech trends
Cares about code quality, performance, and delivering user-friendly solutions
