Job description

Overview : Based in Cape town the Service Manager will manage workshop managers across South Africa, by ensuring that workshops and SANAS calibration services run smoothly and assist in driving business growth. The manager maintain high service standards, lead technical teams, and oversee laboratory and research equipment maintenance, repair, and servicing.

Duties :

  • T eam Leadership & Management :
  • You will oversee workshop and SANAS managers and their teams nationwide.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure they excel.
  • Ensure everyone follows company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Continuously market the workshop and SANAS calibration services.
  • Operational Oversight :
  • Develop and implement standardized processes.
  • Monitor productivity and resource usage.
  • Manage maintenance schedules for SANAS equipment and workshop tools.
  • Ability to develop and implement service contracts and aftersales support agreements
  • Technical Expertise :
  • Offer guidance on complex technical issues related to repairs and servicing.
  • Ensure workshops are well-equipped.
  • Maintain high-quality standards.
  • Experience in tendering processes for service contracts.
  • Customer Service :
  • Ensure customers are satisfied with our service excellence across all workshops.
  • Address any escalated customer complaints promptly to resolve issues.
  • Budget & Resource Management :
  • Prepare and manage workshop operation budgets.
  • Monitor technical staff to ensure they meet their targets.
  • Control costs related to parts, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Compliance & Safety :
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure workshops comply with industry standards and certifications.
  • Reporting & Strategy :
  • Proficiency in CRM, or workshop management software.
  • Analyse workshop performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop strategies for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the technical department.
  • Ability to develop and implement service contracts and aftersales support agreements

Requirements :

  • Education : National Diploma or Degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years managing technical teams or workshops.
  • Multi-Site Experience : Proven ability to manage operations across multiple sites.
  • Prepared to travel extensively
  • Remuneration :

    Negotiable up to R50k CTC
