Job Title: National Sales Manager
The National Sales Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing strategic sales plans to expand the company's customer base and ensure a strong market share and presence.
Job Purpose
The purpose of the National Sales Manager is to design and implement the sales strategy and operational plan, to ensure that goals and objectives are met, to lead the sales team by providing guidance, training, and mentorship, and to build and maintain customer relationships while selling the product offering to customers.
Qualifications
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, business management, or food science
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge & Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience within the FMCG sector, specifically in food and beverage manufacturing
- 5–7 years in a sales role
- Minimum of 3 years in a sales management role
- B2B sales experience
Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategic and operational sales plans to meet targets.
- Expand the company's customer base and ensure a strong market share and presence.
- Monitor market trends and provide regular feedback on competitor behavior and trends.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction through key account management.
- Manage and grow the customer base in the Western Cape and oversee regional sales nationally.
- Responsible for the annual sales budget and targets across all regions, including international markets.
- Forecast product and customer needs.
- Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and planning to optimize contracts, availability, and pricing.
- Set and maintain standard pricing based on raw material costs.
- Support the sales team with customer-specific pricing strategies.
- Manage and mentor the sales team, including training, motivation, advising, and performance management.
- Handle HR processes within the sales team, including recruitment, performance management, KPI setting, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure customer contracts, price lists, and information are updated according to contractual changes in Sage.
- Adhere to high ethical standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
