Our company is seeking a National Route Planner based in KZN, someone who is an organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for logistics and transportation planning.
Essential Requirements
- Matric
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in data analysis and familiar with transport management systems.
- Knowledge of Distribution Operations
- A strong understanding of the areas a route planner will be working in is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve effectively.
The Key Areas Of Responsibility Include
- Transport Fleet Management
Ensure an adequate number of vehicles are available for daily operations.
Utilize our internal route planning program to strategize/analyze collections and deliveries, assign drivers and load assistants based on monthly hours.
Maintain constant communication with drivers and load assistants, ensuring they are informed of their duties for the upcoming day and are aware of any updates or changes.
Prepare critical documents including delivery notes, transport arrangements, and collection slips, and facilitate their distribution to relevant team members.
Conduct daily reports on non-collections/deliveries, analyze transportation routes for efficiency and improved service delivery, and manage vehicle tracking processes.
- Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Store Controllers to ensure smooth logistics for large orders, and coordinate any special collections or carry-over needs.
Oversee the performance of drivers and load assistants, support efforts to reduce overtime, and address employee and customer concerns effectively.
