Job Location : Gauteng, Johannesburg

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Report to the CEO of Bryte Specialist Motor (BSM).
  • Establish sales targets aligned with the company strategy and adjust market plans as needed.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage growth and pipeline development, maintaining profitability with industry expertise.
  • Prepare sales forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Manage, coach, and develop Portfolio Managers to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to negotiate insurance needs.
  • Drive business solutions and product development ideas.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Product Development to ensure brand consistency.
  • Apply Underwriting Rating Guidelines consistently.
  • Oversee onboarding audits for new propositions and authorize new Broker Agencies.
  • Research new market opportunities and clients.
  • Support and motivate the Sales team.
  • Manage the client database and recognize top performers.

Stakeholder Management

  • MD’s office, Executive team, Communication and Events teams, Business heads, Reserving committee, External Partners, Agents, Administrators, UMAs, and Networks.

Leadership Accountabilities

  • Model behaviors aligned with Bryte’s principles.
  • Lead a high-performing team and conduct performance reviews.
  • Create a people management plan for capability development.
  • Encourage personal development.
  • Lead by example and set performance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Higher Certificate in Insurance; Fellowship preferred.
  • RE 5 (RE 1 advantageous).
  • At least 8 years in Commercial Underwriting and Portfolio Management.
  • 3-4 years of management experience.
  • Technical knowledge of Motor and Commercial Products, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
