A leading automotive company seeks a National Parts Manager to drive sales and enhance operations within the Parts and Accessories Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating parts operations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring effective supply chain efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, industry experience, and analytical skills to achieve business growth and profitability. Applicants must have relevant automotive industry experience and a degree in a related field.
Remuneration : Market Related + Company Car + 50% Medical Aid + 7.5% Pension ContributionWorking Hours : Monday – Friday : 08 : 00 -17 : 00 but can vary from time to timeTravel : As per requirements to conduct national or internationalA well-established Passenger vehicle OEM requires a National Parts Manager to join their teamJOB PURPOSE : Lead the Parts and Accessories (P&A) Business Unit and Team of the Aftersales Division aligned to the overall Aftersales Strategy.
The successful leadership, co-ordination and management of the Parts business operations, tasks and projects will be critical in driving business growth, Customer Experience, OEM and Dealer profitability for competitive advantage in the market.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Drive Parts Sales with growth aligned to Parts Business Targets, KPIs, Objectives, Margins and Profitability of the BusinessSales planning of target achievements, profits margins, stock level, orders, accessories sales and suppliers, back-order parts and obsolescent stock values with creative ideas to increase profits and reduce obsolescent stockProvide and prepare Parts Budget inputs monthly and reviewsMonitoring, Reduction and Management of Parts Business Operational Costs (direct and indirect costs) initiativesOversee and Manage Parts Warehouse Operation Teams (outbound, inbound, inventory control, operations etc)Oversee and Manage Parts Order demand planning process and ordering from factory and local suppliers to ensure optimal fill rate, low backorders and effective supply of parts to dealer network and customersOversee and Manage Parts Support (Technical and Orders) teams to provide optimal support to dealer network which drives brand satisfaction from customersDrive and create warehouse continuous improvement efficiencies such as utilisation, peak warehouse capacity used, slotting etc.
Supply rates – improve supply rates to dealersManage Parts Business Readiness for New Vehicle Launches as regards parts setup, pricing, ordering, accessory development, technical requirements or compliances, and orders, supply policy and stocking at DealershipsManage local and overseas suppliers and relationships to ensure optimal business efficiencies, strategic partnerships are developed and cost management (policies, discounts and rebates)Dealer Network Parts Business Policy Development, Profitability, and Aftersales Absorption / Revenue GrowthProvide Internal support and guidance to Aftersales Teams (Customer Care, Technical Support, Warranty, Training, Procurements, Aftersales Finance)Identification of opportunities for new revenue streams (new products, new markets or channels_ to grow Parts BusinessNew Business (traditional & non-traditional) Opportunities, Products, Sectors, Products and Services DevelopmentParts Marketing and Communications Management Projects to drive Parts Sales demandParts Business Operating Systems Maintenance, Development and Integration ProjectsParts Electronic Catalogue Systems Maintenance and ImprovementsManage performance of staff, aligned to goals, measuring performance and dealing with non-performance accordinglyProvide training to staff and development of training programs (staff and dealer network) to improve competenciesMaintain relations with key stakeholders, customers and industry associations to achieve the objectives of the Parts businessEXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED : Evaluated knowledge and experience in Automotive Parts Business Operations, Warehousing, Warehouse Operations, Parts Supply Chain, Customs, Health and Safety, Logistics and Dealer OperationsExperience in Parts Demand Planning, Stocking and understanding of Parts Inventory ManagementUnderstanding and experience of Parts Costing, Margins Strategies, Pricing and Marketing of Parts Business Lines (Parts, Accessories, Oils, Fluids and Lubricants, Other)Experienced in Parts and business budget planning, preparation and forecastsUnderstanding of Lean Warehousing, Warehousing Processes and Warehouse Management SystemsExperienced in Supplier Management (Logistics, Distribution, Parts, Accessories and other)Experience and understanding of Automotive OEM Dealer Parts Policies and ProceduresExperience and understanding of cross border (outside South Africa) Parts export and sales proceduresExperience and Technical Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, part number management and cataloguesExperience in preparation, understanding and presentation of Parts Business and Operations reportsExperience to lead, direct people and leading of large teamsExcellent strong leader, communicator, team player, professional interpersonal skills and good at managing conflictStrong planning, analytical, organizational and administration skillsQUALIFICATIONS : Automotive industry experience ESSENTIAL!Minimum Grade 12 Matric with Degree / Diploma in Finance, Supply Chain, Strategic or Business Management.Leadership and Automotive Parts Business Management Training Qualifications advantageous.Minimum 2-5 years National Parts Manager experience at Automotive OEM Importer or Assembler / Manufacturing OEMExcellent computer skills (ERP systems, Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel), grammar and writing contentPlease note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
