The incumbent will be appointed on a permanent basis.

The position is based at the Legal Aid SA National Office in Braamfontein.

Position Purpose

Responsible for the facility management of Legal Aid House; management of electronic access control and fire systems; monitoring and maintaining CCTV security systems; ensuring Health and Safety compliance; managing and supervising security and cleaning contractors.

Supervise Switchboard Operators, Office Assistants, and Infrastructure Officers.

Manage and supervise construction and refurbishments at the National Office and all Local and Satellite Offices as per requests.

Key Performance Areas
  • Manage and maintain the National Office access control and regularly test security measures.
  • Ensure the availability of telecommunication equipment at the National Office.
  • Ensure efficiency of Switchboard Operators.
  • Responsible for the routine maintenance of all assets at the National Office.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the National Office building.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and routine services as per contracts.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the National Office.
  • Manage and ensure the efficiency of physical security personnel.
  • Ensure the availability of fire extinguishers and proper demarcation of fire escape routes.
  • Manage refurbishments and renovations at the National, Local, and Satellite Offices as instructed.
  • Supervise Office Receptionists and Infrastructure Officers.
Person Specifications (Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes)

A diploma in Facility/Infrastructure Management with 5 years of relevant experience. Two years of supervisory experience.
