Job description

We are seeking a seasoned HR professional specializing in Payroll and Industrial Relations (IR), with extensive experience in managing payroll systems, particularly using SAGE, and a strong background in navigating highly unionized environments.

The ideal candidate will excel in ensuring compliance with labour regulations, fostering constructive union relationships, and driving efficient payroll operations. They will be responsible for the overall management and development of all aspects of HR and Talent Management for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Selection: Manage all recruitment needs, oversee day-to-day processes, review job descriptions, advertise on websites, attend interviews, select CVs, and candidates. Create and improve offer letters and contracts. Manage references and security clearances. Ensure documentation is received before employment begins.
  • Learning and Development: Establish and maintain systems for identifying, planning, delivering, and measuring learning initiatives. Manage a training plan and develop direct reports. Organize and deliver induction sessions, including presentations.
  • General Management: Represent the company professionally, support managerial meetings, and advise on HR policies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
  • Labour Law qualification (Essential)
  • Code 8 License
  • 10+ Years' HR Management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of legislation such as LRA, BCEA, SDA, EEA, Unions, MIBCO
  • Knowledge of remuneration packages (VIP Premier, etc.) and payroll practices
  • Experience with Employment Equity
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in English reading and writing
  • Meticulous attention to detail
