Minimum Job Requirements :
- Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Certification in Credit Management strong preference.
- Banking industry experience essential.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Credit Management or Analysis within retail or FMCG.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Management role overseeing national or large-scale credit operations.

Key Performance Areas :
Report to the National Finance Executive :
Credit Risk Management :
- Monitor and manage the overall credit risk exposure to acceptable levels.
- Design, implement and maintain a Credit Committee Charter and Terms of Reference for Retailer Loans.
- Develop and implement credit management policies and procedures.
- Create credit scoring models to predict risks.
Credit Evaluation :
- Lead the conducting of thorough credit assessments for new and existing customers.
- Determine creditworthiness (including financial stability), approve recommended credit limits, credit extensions, required security, legal action, perfection requests, bad debts write offs, store feasibilities, etc.
- Lead the setting of appropriate credit limits and terms based on analysis and company policies.
Collections and Receivables Management :
- Implement effective collection strategies and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Provide direction on the negotiation of payment plans.
- Provide direction with regards to addressing any credit related disputes or concerns.
- Assist with finding mutually beneficial resolutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Closely monitor overdue percentages, economic factors, debtors days and customer payment patterns.
Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with the FIC Act, National Credit Act / Regulations, and ensure related statutory submissions are attended to regularly and timeously.
- Ensure appropriate document management systems are in place to support the FIC Act requirements.
Reporting & Administration :
- Provide insights and recommendations to Senior Management for decision-making on credit management strategies.
- Attend and administer the monthly Credit Committee meeting and drive outcomes as well as related projects.
- Implement reporting functionality and capability that allows for effective credit management oversight by relevant stakeholders, including guidance on dispute resolutions.
Customer Relationship Management :
- Provide strategic and operational support or guidance to the Regional or BU Credit Managers.
- Manage relationships with credit insurance providers and ensure adequate coverage for high-risk accounts and groups.
