Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a Senior Research Scientist specializing in nanotechnology to drive the design, synthesis, and application of nanomaterials for cutting-edge developments. You will lead key research projects and mentor junior scientists in a collaborative R&D environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate nanoscale discoveries into practical applications and contribute to pioneering projects in nanotechnology within Port Elizabeth.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field with nanotech emphasis.
• Minimum 7 years of nanotechnology research experience in synthesis and characterization.
• Proficiency with nanotechnology characterization tools; strong problem solving and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead research in synthesis, characterization, and application of novel nanomaterials (quantum dots, nanoparticles, nanocomposites).
• Design and execute experiments using TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD and related techniques.
• Develop scalable fabrication processes for nanostructured materials and devices.
• Analyze complex data and correlate nanoscale properties with macroscopic performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate nanomaterials into new products in Port Elizabeth.
