Key purpose of the role

The role requires a Multimedia Designer that is sought to generate engaging visual training content for the financial advisers within our Sales and Distribution force, leveraging skills in graphic design, video production, post-production, and basic motion graphics, predominantly using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

Key Responsibilities and outputs

All work must be done accurately, comprehensively and to an acceptable quality.

  • Design and develop visual content for the Sales and Distribution teams so that information is communicated effectively and engagingly.
  • Utilise the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite to create graphics, videos, and basic motion graphics so that training content is visually appealing and aligns with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand their needs and objectives so that design solutions are tailored and effective.
  • Stay updated with latest design trends and technologies to continually improve and innovate design solutions so that the company/team/department stays competitive and relevant.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely delivery of design solutions so that project timelines are met.
  • Continually learn and upskill to stay proficient in the use of design tools and software so that the quality of work remains high.
  • Follow and maintain design best practices and platform standards to ensure consistency and quality across all designs so that the brand image is upheld.
  • Seek and incorporate feedback to improve design solutions so that the designs continually improve and evolve.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Graphic Design (Technical Competency – Intermediate Level) Ability; create visually appealing designs, proficiency in using design tools, and understanding of design principles.
  • Video production and post-production (Technical Competency – Intermediate Level) Ability; shoot and edit videos, understanding of video formats and codecs, and knowledge of video storytelling techniques.
  • Motion Graphics (Technical Competency – Basic Level) Ability; create simple animations and motion graphics, understanding of animation principles, and familiarity with animation software.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Technical Competency – Intermediate Level); proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
  • Communication (Soft Competency – Intermediate Level) Ability; effectively communicate design ideas and concepts, ability to understand and interpret project requirements, and ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Time Management (Soft Competency – Intermediate Level) Ability; manage multiple projects simultaneously, ability to meet project deadlines, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Creativity (Soft Competency – Intermediate Level) Ability; come up with innovative design solutions, ability to think outside the box, and ability to keep up with design trends while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Teamwork (Soft Competency – Intermediate Level) Ability; work effectively in a team, ability to collaborate with various teams, and ability to contribute positively to team dynamics.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum

  • 2 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role.
  • Design qualification, specifically Graphic or Visual Multimedia Design.
  • Basic to intermediate Graphic or Multimedia Design experience.
  • Basic Knowledge and experience working with Animation.
