The MSP Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence by identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
This role focuses on generating new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, and positioning the company's solutions to align with MSP needs.
The incumbent will develop and execute sales strategies, drive revenue growth, and ensure the successful onboarding and ongoing engagement of MSP partners to maximize long-term business success.
Performance Standards
- Develop additional revenue streams from a targeted list of MSP partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals across Networking, Data Centre, and Security solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to drive new business revenue.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to execute business initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market developments to maintain competitive relevance.
MSP Sales and Pipeline Management
- Drive MSP sales enablement and pipeline development.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant product sets, programs, and portfolio offerings.
- Ensure consistent sales growth in line with targets.
- Report opportunity details regularly to relevant brands (weekly pipeline updates) using the CRM system.
- Track sales target achievements and provide explanations for deviations.
- Ensure profit margins are met as per business objectives.
- Submit weekly activity reports and meeting minutes to the Manager.
- Provide productivity reports to the Business Unit and Brand Manager.
- Participate in training sessions provided by relevant brands and product teams to become proficient in selling the designated product set.
- Establish and maintain regular engagement with sales resources to drive alignment and performance.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain and update CRM records with accuracy.
- Ensure CRM hygiene by regularly tracking and addressing inconsistencies.
- Engage consistently with internal teams, particularly Sales and Pre-Sales.
- Request, evaluate, and follow up on key quotes.
- Track operational responses and manage SLAs with brand operations.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of key deals.
- Prepare and manage weekly pipeline reports.
- Keep the partner database up to date and accurate.

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Matric; a tertiary qualification in Business Management or IT would be advantageous.
- 3-5 years of external sales / new business development experience in the ISP Telecommunications Industry.
- Advanced Excel Skills – proficiency in creating Pivot Tables.
- Strong Presentation Skills – ability to confidently create and deliver engaging presentations.
- Financial Acumen – understanding key financial concepts such as markup vs. margin, balance sheets, and withholding capital.
Physical and Workplace Requirements
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
- Office-based environment with a semi-formal dress code.
- Working hours from 08:00 to 17:00.
- Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal.
- Reliable transport to and from the office.
