Responsibilities:
- Operate conventional milling machines, grinding machines, and lathes.
- Perform mould repairs and maintenance according to quality system requirements.
- Ensure moulded parts meet specifications, including drawings and cosmetic standards.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all safety devices in the mould room are operational.
- Shutdown and lock out equipment if safety devices are defective, and inform the supervisor.
- Carry out preventative maintenance as per schedules and procedures.
- Report potential machine problems to reduce breakdowns.
- Record spares usage during maintenance for cost control and planning.
- Collaborate with production staff and process technicians to optimize machine performance.
- Assist and educate on proper handling of machines and equipment.
- Maintain quality standards and ensure their adherence.
- Repair mould breakdowns promptly without compromising safety or craftsmanship.
- Participate in refurbishing, upgrading, or installing new or secondhand moulds and machinery.
- Innovate and suggest methods to increase production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate effectively regarding workload progress.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a technical field, preferably in injection, stretch, or blow moulding.
- Qualified Toolmaker trade preferred.
- Proficient in English, with good communication skills; local language skills required.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
