A position has become available for a Motor Wreck Assessor in the Motor Claims department at the Parktown office.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to determine the quantum and merit of segmented motor claims by performing investigations, verifying the description of the event with the loss, negotiating with clients, intermediaries, and service providers, and settling claims within a delegated threshold and according to contract conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quote and assess damage against a provided or requested quotation.
• Generate claims report and communicate the outcome with client and intermediary.
• Determine market value of vehicle for settlement (valuation).
• Determine outstanding finance details, release settlements, and documents to salvage inventory.
• Authorize write-offs.
• Complete investigative reports.
• Make notes on systems, process claims, and upload documents.
• Load order amendments as required.
• Handle complaints, queries, and interactions with clients, intermediaries, service providers, internal stakeholders, relationship managers, claims committees, and underwriters.
• Handle claim types including non-drivable and uneconomical to repair claims.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Mechanical or Automotive related studies, or an Automotive/Mechanical Body Repair Qualification (e.g., Qualified Panel Beater, Diesel Mechanic).
• At least 3 years’ experience in motor assessing.
• Knowledge of the Audatex system (Audatex certificate).
• Technical skills from training in Heavy Haulage are advantageous.
• Product training in motor modules for PL, C/L, and Agri, and specialized motor products.
• Training in insurance principles and claims handling procedures.
• System training on online systems, BPM, RSS, Mainframe, JDE, Audatex, Abuntex, and Photo Viewer.

SKILLS
